I tend to run away from myself, i'm afraid of dealing with my issues head on so running is what works for me.
I want to stop because it is so futile and pain wont leave till we face it fully.
Learning to sit with pain is not easy!! Its messy, but i am learning to be ok with the mess. To tell myself that its okay to be in pain, its okay to not know how to make it go away.
Do you also struggle to face your pain?

⋒ If there’s one thing I feel like this season has highlighted in my life is the need of simplicity. Noisy and complex systems are now not priority and all of the sudden we were taken back to the basics and were reminded of the power of the simple tasks to keep the world moving.
Jobs that were classified as “basic” are proved to be necessary; the complex daily structures to reach goals and targets have been replaced by taking one day at a time. “Stay home, protect the NHS, save lives” - such a simple reminder, but so powerful in this season. It’s bringing clarity in a moment where everyone says something to over complicate.
We love complicating things as a way to add value to them. Complex things are like a badge of power & honour and make us feel good - at least while the systems work. However, when things get tighter, the simple steps are the ones that bring stability and sense. They help us to ground ourselves again and at the end our humanity is highlighted.
Simplicity doesn’t mean shallow. Simplicity is the key to clarity, is the key to understand the heart of things, the things that actually make us humans.
Jesus knew so much about the power of keeping things simple as a way to unite instead of diving that when questioned by the experts of the law, who were probably expecting a complex system that only those who were studying deep the law would be able to understand/fulfil, He simply gave two simple instructions, full of meaning and depth, that anyone could understand: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ & ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.” - simple instructions but full of clarity in a time where complex systems were in place as way to cause separation and confusion, and of course, instead of bringing people closer to God, where actually pushing them away.
So, if there’s one thing I want to take from this season is the beauty of simplicity. How it changes the way I view my life and how the worries somehow fade when there’s no complex systems and things to untangle.
Keep it simple + keep it intentional / Keep God in the the centre and people priority. #OnThursdaysIShareMy💛
